The Cooper Project
Based in the Cooper Buildings on Arundel Street, we've been a specialist tech and digital incubator for 30 years.
Our incubation programme, the Cooper Project, is a 6-month free residency in the Cooper Lounge open to pre-start and early stage start-ups operating in tech and digital sectors. It is an opportunity to test an idea and develop it into a viable business, or develop your early stage business in readiness for expansion into your first office.
We’re looking to on-board small cohorts of people with an ambition to set up, develop and scale a digital business. Our key measures of success are business creation, job creation and graduation from the Technology Park Campus
What’s the process?
Send us an email, and we'll send you a link to a short pre-application online course to establish if the Cooper Project is the right fit for you.
You'll have an initial interview with our Growth Advisors and Project Coordinator [PC] to explore the business idea and opportunities.
Once accepted onto the programme, our PC will work with you to develop a business and personal development plan with milestones and dates.
We'll arrange meetings for you with our Growth Advisors and whichever EiRs are most relevant for your business.
At the end of the 6 months, there's be an opportunity to present your progress at one of our regular socials.

Sheffield Science Park Company Limited is a non-profit Limited by Guarantee organisation established in the 1980s to help address the City's economy in the face of post-industrial decline.
We exist to help people to start and grow their business in Sheffield, specifically in the Technology and Digital Sectors, through incubation, discounted rental arrangements and soft landing programmes.
Location
The Cooper Buildings on Arundel Street have been our home for over 30 years, right at the heart of Sheffield’s dynamic and continually developing Cultural Industries Quarter.
We are located 2 minutes’ walk from the railway and bus stations, right next to Sheffield Hallam University, and just 10 minutes from the M1.
The area is full of cafes, restaurants and creative outlets, and just across the road from Sheffield’s flagship Millennium Galleries and Winter Garden.
Business Services
We operate the Cooper Buildings as fully managed workspace, with serviced offices and workshops available to businesses up to 15 staff. Our core mission is to aid the exit of our occupiers by developing their business and enabling growth opportunities to be realised. Whilst with us our operations team handle all aspects of Bureau, Facilities and Communication services for our clients.
Positioning within the Digital Ecosystem
We're working to position ourselves as a useful resource amongst similarly aligned projects across the City and City Region. Our original ambition remains the same - to facilitate economic development in our core sectors. This means that as well as aiding our direct clients, we also look to offer assistance to City Partners with complimentary ambitions.

Our Cooper Lounge is a bright, open space to work from. We have a small group of friendly people using the space, including members of the Cooper Project incubator.
You'll find it a quiet, studious place to work from with workbench seating, table seating with high back chairs and soft seating/sofa and TV area. Complimentary refreshments are available throughout the day.
£9 plus VAT per day drop in rate, £100 plus VAT per month
There's no need to book, simply turn up and pay at Reception. Please note we can only take card payments for coworking fees.
